Finally 21

I'm finally 21. No more underage drinking. I can finally drink legally in the United States!

I must admit that it is a little weird that what I've been doing for the past few years is now actually allowed. People say that it won't be as much of a thrill to use my fake ID and drink. I, however, think it'll be completely the opposite. Now that I can comfortably and confidently walk into any liquor store or bar, I know that I'll be exposed to so many more different types of alcohol. Whether it be beer, liquor, or wine, there are so many different drinks to be tried! No more Natty Lights! No more cheap vodka! It's time to properly appreciate alcohol.

I've started this blog to record and share my experiences as a new legal drinker. I also want to share my learnings of all the culture and history that comes with every alcoholic drink.

Here goes nothing! Bottoms up!

I feel sorry for people who don't drink.  When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.  ~Frank Sinatra

  5. A shot each of: vodka, triple sec, gin, white rum & tequila. Mix a splash of lemon juice, lime juice and sugar, stir and add to the alcohol. Pour all into a tall glass filled with ice and top up with cola.

Long Island Iced Tea. 4 of these and your done for the night! :)

  12. the nice thing about being 21, despite drinking previous to it, is the weight of paranoia lifted off your shoulders.. now you can have booze in your car, carry it, etc, without the fear of gettin busted anymore

  13. When everyone I knew & myself had turned 18 (legal drinking age in the UK), we all started going to bars & clubs to drink.

Before then, it was all house parties, camping trips (sometimes with hundreds of people - no joke), and the occasional friendly local.

Didn't lose the thrill, but these sort of gatherings were far superior imo.

  22. I just turned the age of majority here in Canada (which is 19 years old) and I'm loving it! The bar atmosphere is great and you get to meet tons of new people and try tons of new drinks. My favorite part is definitely not being nervous when going into a liquor store.

  23. Congratulations to the beginning of adulthood. Don't drink too much because it affects your judgement causing you to make bad decisions in the process.
